XR Glasgow to join Unite protest for affordable energy

Extinction Rebellion’s Change is Now Tour is traveling through Scotland to engage with citizens on the most urgent issue of our time, the climate and ecological crisis.

The tour is visiting Glasgow on Friday 30 September and XR Glasgow will be performing outreach at various points throughout the city.

XR Glasgow will also be joining the Unite protest for affordable energy at the Scottish Power Building, St Vincent Street, G2 5AD.

The economy isn’t working for anyone but the wealthiest people and the biggest corporations. Unfettered profiteering from corporations such as Scottish Power is driving inflation, and we are paying the price through a cost of living crisis. No amount of lobbying in Westminster will change this. The working people of this country must win this change ourselves.

Unite, XR Glasgow and members of the community are protesting outside of Scottish Power HQ to demand lower energy prices.

Join us in demanding people over profits.

Date: Friday 30 September

Time: 12.00pm to 2.00pm

Location: Scottish Power Building, St Vincent Street, G2 5AD

The Change is Now Bus Tour is part of a nation-wide tour raising awareness about the climate and ecological crises, and how they connect to the cost-of-living crisis. It is visiting over 60 towns and cities in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to spread rebellion, deliberative democracy and movement building right across the UK.

The tour also aims to sign-up people for ‘The Big One’, where Extinction Rebellion aims to bring 100,000 people out onto the streets on 21 April 2023.
